Azusa (Japanese: 梓) is a young part-time set meal restaurant employee who made her debut in Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation upon the June 23, 2025 update in the DMM version and the July 8, 2026 update in the STEAM / Johren version.
Biography
Character
Appearance
Azusa is of average height with fair skin, shoulder-length burgundy hair with light orange streaks and portions of it tied back, and amber eyes. Her default attire is a black see-through one shoulder top with gold detail, a burgundy strapless bikini top, two gold necklaces with one around her neck and the other reaching her cleavage with a light blue jewel, a blue waist band, a gold bangle bracelet on her left arm, white pants with the right leg cut off and cutouts on the left held by a dark brown belt, a burgundy belt strap on her right thigh, and black sandals with ankle straps.
Personality
Azusa is shown to have a tough and straightforward exterior. She also has a bit of a tomboyish demeanor to her, as evidenced by her tendency to use male-associated terms when speaking (e.g, using the masculine first person pronoun "ore" in conversation).
Etymology
Azusa is a Japanese unisex name that references the Catalpa, alongside similar wood senses. It can be transcribed in a variety of ways, including 梓, 梓沙, あづさ, あずさ, and アズサ.
Relationships
Tsukushi
Azusa happens to be the only fan of Tsukushi's manga, which serves as a primary reason for meeting her in person at the Venus Islands.

Trivia
"Clean yourself up!" This article/section needs to be improved in areas such as grammar, style, formatting and spelling. |
- Azusa is the sixth girl to be announced via livestream alongside an established character's voice actress (Maria Sashide, Tsukushi's voice actress), after Tsukushi herself, Shandy, Yukino, Shizuku and Meg. She is also the only one where the associated character has a direct tie to their background (as Tsukushi's manga was what inspired her to go to the island).
- Azusa being inspired to go to the island most likely ties in with how her voice actress, Sarah Emi Bridcutt, is a massive Tsukushi fan.
- Sakuta-P had personally requested for Bridcutt to voice Azusa due to her role in her design.[1][2]
- Although Azusa's nationality isn't known, she's implied to be Japanese due to her name being spelled in Hiragana. Sakuta-P also indicated in a message during the livestream that she was modeled after the Yanki subculture.[3]
- In his commentary for Famitsu's 8th anniversary coverage for Xtreme Venus Vacation, Sakuta elaborated that, besides the Yankee subculture, her design was also inspired by 1980s idol costumes and also various "sailor" aesthetics for both her physical appearance and inner character, with his citing the "sailor" aesthetics in particular as informing her distinctly girly elements.[4]
- In her second episode, she mentioned she had gone over to the Venus Islands via motorcycle and also indicated she had been doing so on her break time from her family's set meal restaurant, implying it was within driving distance of the islands.
- Azusa is the ninth girl to refer to the Boss without any honorifics in the Japanese version, after Misaki, Nanami, Elise, Tina, Amy, Yukino, Shizuku, and Reika.
